GOVERNORS
Though the governor eliminates speeding, there is a wastage of fuel at the
governed speed in some cases running up to 25% unless the carbureter step-up
vacuum passage is by-passed through the governor. Other-wise, the power mixture
will be delivered to the motor at the governed speed. Below is complete information
for proper governor installations:

*Fast idle cannot be used when installing this flange assembly, but must be disconnected
and removed from the carbureter.
TO INSTALL GOVERNOR on the following carbureters, remove small screw, Part No.
26-12 (Step-up passage plug) from face of flange and insert it into threaded
hole inside the throttle bore:
CTA Dodge Truck Early 1933
CTA4 Dodge Truck Late 1933
CTC I Dodge Truck 1934
When installing governors on above trucks, use flange gasket No. IA-23.
TO INSTALL GOVERNOR on 1935 and 1936 BB downdraft carbureters it is necessary
to use flange gasket with 4 holes, part numbers IA-23, IA-24 or IA-32, between
governor and carbureter flange. Original flange gasket with 4 slots, part numbers
IA-30, IA-31 or IA-33 is to remain on manifold and governor is to be installed
on top of it.
TO REMOVE GOVERNOR 'from Dodge Truck carbureters CTB, CTB4, ETB, ETB4 and CTDI,
the small screw No. 26-12 should be removed from the hole in the throttle bore
and inserted in the threaded hole in face of flange.
TO REMOVE GOVERNOR from 1935 and 1936 cars using BB downdraft carbureters, the
flange gaskets with 4 slots, part numbers IA-30, IA-31, or I A-32 should be used
between carbureter and manifold.
These special body flanges, and the special governor type carbureter gaskets
are listed on this sheet and in form Nos. 4339, 4386 or 4350 Dodge Trucks.
Handy, Hoof, and Monarch governors drilled to meet the hole in our special flanges,
