CARBURETER SPECIFICATIONS-CARBURETERS CTD2-ETF2
Dimensions: (CTD2) Flange size, 11/4 inch S. A. E.
rTF2) Flange size, 11/2 inch S. A. E. TD2) Throttle bore, 1-7/16 inch (36.51
mm). (ETF2) Throttle bore, I-11/16 inch (42.86 mm). (CTD2) Main venturi, 11/4
inch (31.75 mm) I. D. (ETF2) Main venturi, 1-9/32 inch (32.54 mm) I. D.
Float Setting: (Both models) Top of float 5/64 inch (1.98 mm) plus or minus
1/64 inch (.397 mm) below top of surface of carbureter body casting.
Vent: (Both models) (To float chamber) outside. Size, 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) drill.
Gasoline Intake Needle: (CTD2) Triangular, horizontal. No. 44 (2.18 mm) drill
in needle seat.
(ETF2) Triangular, horizontal. No. 42 (2.37 mm) drill in needle seat.
Idle Orifice Tube: (Both models) Jet size, .0276 inch (.70 mm). (Both models)
Idle passage air bleed (in body) size .063 inch (1.60 mm).
(Both models) Economizer (in body) size .049 inch (1.25 mm) diameter.
Idle Ports: (CTD2) Upper port, keyhole type; length .132 inch (3.35 mm). Width,
.030 inch (.76 mm); .063 inch (1.60 mm) diameter hole at top.
(ETF2) Upper port, keyhole type; length, .128 inch (3.25 mm); width, .027 inch
(.69 mm); .063 inch (1.60 mm) diameter hole at top.
(CTD2) Top of port located .080 to .084 inch (2.03 to 2.13 mm) above top edge
of valve.
(ETF2) Top of port located .081 to .085 inch (2.06 to 2.16 mm) above top edge
of valve.
(Both models) Lower port size, .053 to .057 inch (1.35 to 1.45 mm) diameter.
(For idle adjustment screw.)
Idle Adjustment Screw: (CTD2) Set to 1/8 to 3/4 turn open. For richer mixture
turn screw out.
(ETF2) Set to 1/4 to I turn open. For richer mixture turn screw out. Do not
idle engine below 300 rpm. or six miles per hour.
Main Metering Jet: (CTD2) Calibrated to flow 262 to 266 cc per minute.
(ETF2) Calibrated to flow 282 to 286 cc per minute. (Do not gauge for size.
If in doubt, replace with new part.)
Vent Tube: (Both models) Air bleed through plug in diffuser, size .0315 inch
(.80 mm) drill.
Main Vent Tube:

inch (.50 mm) 1-1/64 inch (25.8 mm) from end. (ETF2) 2—.0354 inch (.90
mm) 21/64 inch (8.33 mm) from end; 2—.0354 inch (.90 mm) I-1/64 inch
(25.8 mm) from end.
Step-up Jet: (CTD2) No. 65 (.89 mm) drill size. (ETF2) No. 63 (.94 mm) drill
size.
Accelerating Pump: (Both models) Type, delayed action. Stroke, Summer setting
(inner hole, short stroke). Intermediate setting (center hole).
Winter setting (outer hole, long stroke).
Pump intake passage, size .115 to .120 inch (2.93 to 3.05 mm) diameter, in
body.
Pump needle seat, size .062 to .065 inch (1.58 to 1.65 mm) diameter, in body.
(CTD2) Pump (discharge) jet size, .0315 inch (.80 mm) drill. (ETF2) Pump (discharge)
jet size, .0354 inch (.90 mm) drill.
Choke: Manual—Butterfly type, with pressure relief poppet valve.

Dimensions: Flange size, 11/4 inch (31.75 mm). Throttle bore, 1-5/32 inch (29.37
mm). Main venturi, 1-3/32 inch (27.78 mm).
Float Setting: Top of float 5/64 inch (1.98 mm) below top of surface of carbureter body casting. (Plus or minus) 1/64 inch (.397 mm).
Vent: (To float chamber) outside. Size, 3/16 inch (4.76 mm).
*Gasoline Intake Needle: Triangular, horizontal. No. 44 (2.18 mm) drill in
needle seat.
Idle Orifice Tube: Jet size, .0276 inch (.70 mm).
Idle passage air bleed (in body) size .067 inch (1.70 mm). Economizer in body,
size .055-.057 inch (1.40-1.45 mm) diameter.
Idle Ports: Upper port size, .062 inch to .064 inch (1.58 to 1.63 mm) diameter.
Bottom of port located .013 to .017 inch (.33 to .43 mm) above top edge of
valve.
Lower port size, .053 to .057 inch (1.35 to 1.45 mm) diameter. (For idle adjustment
screw.)
Set Idle Adjustment Screw: 1/4 to I turn open. For richer mixture
turn screw out. Do not idle engine below 300 r. p. m. or 6 miles per hour.
Main Metering Screw: Calibrated to flow 154 to 158 cc per minute. (Do not gauge
for size. If in doubt replace with new part.)
Vent Tube: Air bleed through plug in diffuser, size .0315 inch (.80 mm) drill.

(.50 mm), I-I/64 inch (25.8 mm) from end.
Step-up Jet: (Power orifice) size, .0236 inch (.60 mm).

Summer setting (inner hole, short stroke) 21/64 inch (8.33 mm). Intermediate
setting (center hole) 7/16 inch (11.11 mm). Winter setting (outer hole, long
stroke) 35/64 inch (13.90 mm). Pump intake passage, size .115 to .120 inch
(2.93 to 3.05 mm) diameter.
Pump needle seat size, .062-.065 inch (1.58-1.63 mm) diameter in body.
Pump (discharge) jet size, .0276 inch (.70 mm) drill.
