Pump the hydraulic jack to bend the king pin scale. Then turn the wheel 90 degrees, and if the support, then open the valve on the jack and set wheel is unbalanced, pendulum indicator will show the protractor for centering. If it does not center, this unbalanced condition. Wheel balance is continue bending until it does. within limits if the pendulum indicator is within %" in or out from zero mark on the indicator scale.
To decrease king pin inclination, install the bending tools as shown in Fig. 187. Bending procedure is the same as when increasing king pin inclination.
If the wheel balance is not within these limits, turn the wheel
to the position where it balances. Place the adjusting rod on the
arbor so that the point marked "2" lines up with the
mark on the
Balancing Wheels and Tires
Mount the wheel on the balancer and turn the wheel slowly until
it is in a balancer position as indicated by the pendulum indicator
lining up with the indicator scale. Fig. 188.
Place the adjusting rod on the arbor with the mark "1" directly
in line with the mark on the end of the arbor. Raise or lower the
counter weight until the pendulum indicator lines up with the inside
pointer on the indicator scale. Figure 189. This operation makes
the balancer sensitive for the size of wheel and tire to be balanced.
Remove the adjusting rod from the arbor.
Wheel is now ready for balance check. Turn the arbor. Mark tire
with chalk directly under rod.
